Charge Nurse – Hospital Unit Leader

About the role

The Charge Nurse leads the nursing team within an assigned unit at Saudi German Hospital, ensuring high‑quality patient care and smooth unit operations. This full‑time, on‑site position requires strong clinical expertise, leadership, and coordination across multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise nursing staff and organize staff assignments.
• Coordinate patient care activities and monitor patient conditions.
• Ensure adherence to clinical protocols, hospital policies, and infection‑control standards.
• Support complex procedures and facilitate communication among physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals.
• Oversee clinical documentation and maintain accurate electronic medical records.
• Participate in quality‑improvement initiatives and reporting.
• Mentor and support nursing team members, addressing patient and family concerns.
• Assist with resource and workflow management to optimise unit efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and a valid Egyptian nursing license.
• Proven experience as a senior staff nurse or in a charge/lead role, preferably in acute, tertiary or critical‑care settings.
• Strong clinical nursing skills, including patient assessment, care planning and implementation of evidence‑based practices.
• Leadership, team‑coordination and effective communication abilities.
• Knowledge of hospital policies, patient safety standards and quality‑improvement methodologies.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and basic computer applications.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and respond to emergencies.
• Fluency in English; Arabic proficiency preferred.
