Indirect Tax - Global Trade Assistant Manager

About the role

EY is looking for an Assistant Manager for Indirect Tax and Global Trade in Cairo. The role leads the delivery of Indirect Tax engagements with a professional, practical and commercial approach, and sits within a team expanding its VAT, Global Trade and Customs advisory practice.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of Indirect Tax engagements, ensuring technical excellence.
• Manage large VAT/Global Trade implementation teams made up of client functional experts and consultant specialists.
• Identify market opportunities and lead the development of commercial propositions for new and existing clients.
• Build and maintain tax relationships with clients, advising on how VAT and Global Trade/Customs affect their supply chain and financial and accounting systems.
• Identify and address risks, advise on the taxation implications of international trade and help clients comply with customs regulations.

Required profile

• Degree in economics, finance, tax or accounting.
• A relevant master's degree, CPA, ACA/CA/CPA/CMA/SOCPA/Law qualification, CTA or equivalent tax qualification.
• At least 6 years of relevant experience in a reputable accounting firm; indirect tax experience preferred.
• Experience in a Big 4 firm preferred, but candidates from local law firms or with relevant industry experience will be considered.
• Customs advisory experience preferable, but VAT/ACI advisory experience will also be considered.
• Excellent written and presentational English.
