Literacy & Reading Coach

About the role

Egypt Education Platform is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Literacy & Reading Coach to join its team at Westview International Language School in 6th of October City. The role is central to improving literacy practices in the school and helping teachers deliver effective reading instruction across all grade levels.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with teachers to assess students' literacy needs and put in place strategies that improve reading skills and comprehension.
• Create and run professional development workshops on best practices in literacy and reading instruction.
• Monitor student progress through data analysis and give tailored support and interventions for struggling readers.
• Design engaging literacy programs and resources that encourage a love of reading and fit diverse learning styles.
• Help put in place school-wide literacy initiatives and curricula.
• Work with families to promote literacy at home, giving them resources and strategies.
• Keep up with current research and trends in literacy education and share insights with faculty and staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Literacy or a related field.
• At least 3 years of teaching experience, preferably in literacy or reading instruction.
• Prior experience as a literacy coach or in a similar instructional support role is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of literacy development and teaching practices for diverse learners.

Required skills

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, teachers and parents.
• Ability to analyse assessment data and design targeted improvement strategies.
