Mechanical Technical Team Leader - Safaga Red Sea

About the role

Innovo Group is looking for an experienced Mechanical Technical Team Leader to lead and coordinate the mechanical technical team and ensure the technical delivery of construction projects in line with approved designs, specifications, codes, standards and project requirements. The role coordinates with engineering, construction, procurement, QA/QC, commercial and project management teams, reviews technical documentation and supports the project team from design development through construction and handover.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the mechanical technical team and coordinate daily technical activities.
• Provide technical guidance to mechanical engineers, coordinators and site teams.
• Review mechanical drawings, specifications, calculations, equipment schedules and technical documentation, including HVAC, chilled water, plumbing, fire fighting, domestic water, pumps, BMS interfaces and smoke extraction systems.
• Review mechanical shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, technical submissions and calculations, and assess design changes.
• Coordinate design development and technical clarifications with consultants, designers, clients and subcontractors.
• Review and respond to RFIs and technical queries, and identify and resolve technical risks and design issues.
• Support the Project Manager and Engineering Manager on complex mechanical matters.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognised university.
• 6-8 years of experience in mechanical engineering and construction, including at least 3 years in a technical leadership or senior engineering role.
• Strong experience in building construction, MEP contracting, infrastructure or similar projects.
• Proven experience coordinating mechanical design and construction, and working with consultants, clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Professional engineering certification or membership with a recognised engineering body is an advantage.
