Senior Cost Accountant – Automotive Manufacturing

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Cost Accountant to lead the cost accounting function for our automotive assembly operations in Giza, Egypt. The role involves maintaining standard costs, analysing variances, and providing profitability insights to support strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and maintain standard costs for all vehicle models, covering materials, labour and overhead.
• Calculate landed cost of imported CKD/SKD kits, including freight, insurance, customs duties and logistics.
• Perform monthly price and efficiency variance analysis and investigate root causes.
• Lead physical inventory counts and reconcile book‑to‑physical balances for raw materials, WIP and finished goods.
• Audit Bills of Materials with Engineering/MRP teams to ensure accuracy.
• Develop and refine methods for allocating indirect manufacturing costs to production lines.
• Prepare gross‑margin reports by model/brand and support month‑end closing.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CMA certification preferred.
• 5–8 years of cost accounting experience, at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment, automotive experience a plus.
• Strong analytical mindset, high integrity and ability to communicate financial data to non‑financial managers.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency with Oracle or a similar ERP system.
• High‑level Excel skills, including macros, Power Query and financial modelling.
• In‑depth knowledge of Egyptian tax and customs regulations related to industrial assembly.
