Senior HSE Specialist

About the role

Innovo Group is looking for a Senior HSE Specialist in Cairo to drive the implementation, monitoring and continuous improvement of Health, Safety and Environmental policies across its construction projects. The role ensures compliance with Egyptian statutory regulations and international standards such as ISO 45001 and ISO 14001, and acts as a safety leader on site who identifies hazards, leads incident investigations and promotes a Zero Harm culture.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain site-specific HSE plans, policies and procedures aligned with corporate objectives and ISO standards
• Carry out site inspections and internal audits, and review and approve subcontractor HSE plans, risk assessments and method statements before work starts
• Ensure environmental controls such as waste management, dust suppression and chemical storage are effective
• Identify hazards, implement mitigation measures and audit the Permit to Work system for high-risk activities
• Lead investigations into accidents, near-misses and environmental incidents and track corrective and preventive actions
• Report weekly and monthly HSE performance metrics (LTI, TRIR) to the HSE Manager
• Mentor junior HSE officers and inspectors, deliver training, inductions and toolbox talks, and run safety awareness campaigns

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science or a related field
• International HSE certification such as NEBOSH IGC, OSHA 30 or IOSH Managing Safely; ISO 45001/14001 Lead Auditor certification highly preferred
• 7 to 10 years of progressive HSE experience in large-scale construction, infrastructure or civil engineering projects
• Knowledge of Egyptian labour laws, environmental regulations and international safety codes
• Bilingual Arabic and English
