Site Mechanical Engineer – Wind Project

About the role

Scatec is seeking a Site Mechanical Engineer for the Shadwan 900 MW wind project in Ras Gharib, Red Sea, Egypt. You will review contractor OEM technical documentation and supervise mechanical works on turbines, ensuring compliance with manuals, HSE and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review contractor OEM technical documentation, including erection manuals, procedures, and method statements.
• Supervise mechanical works on turbines, including off‑loading, erection, and internal works.
• Verify compliance with Scatec’s HSE and quality requirements.
• Attend and witness hold points and critical stages of turbine erection.
• Coordinate with wind turbine contractor teams to resolve technical queries.
• Track turbine‑level progress and report compliance status.
• Escalate non‑conformances or documentation gaps to site HSE and quality functions.
• Support technical correspondence related to OEM procedures and turbine‑specific queries.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Prior experience in wind turbine construction, erection, or mechanical completion (preferred).
• Strong ability to read and interpret OEM technical documentation.
• Comfortable working on active construction sites alongside contractor teams.
• Strong documentation and reporting skills.
• Fluent in English, spoken and written.
