Accountant – Hybrid (Cairo)

About the role

Path Accountants is seeking a full‑time hybrid Accountant based in Cairo, Egypt. The role combines on‑site and remote work, allowing you to support a portfolio of SMEs and self‑employed professionals while collaborating closely with clients and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Perform day‑to‑day bookkeeping, post transactions and reconcile accounts.
• Maintain accurate financial records for multiple client accounts.
• Prepare financial statements and support month‑end and year‑end closing activities.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable.
• Prepare and review UK tax returns, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
• Assist clients with tax planning and filing deadlines.
• Explain financial information clearly to clients and colleagues.
• Contribute to process improvements and enhance reporting quality.

Required profile

• Strong accounting fundamentals, including double‑entry bookkeeping and general ledger management.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance.
• ACCA qualification or progress towards it.
• Minimum three years of accounting experience, preferably with SMEs or self‑employed clients.
• UK experience or familiarity with UK GAAP/IFRS is preferred.
• English proficiency at C1 level or higher.
• Experience in Big 4 or Top 10 accounting firms is an advantage.
• High attention to detail, ethical mindset and respect for confidentiality.
