Accounting and Tax Lead

About the role

The Accounting and Tax Lead will oversee all taxation and financial reporting activities for Sanofi, ensuring full compliance with local and international regulations. This senior position provides strategic insight to optimise tax efficiency while supporting month‑end closing and statutory reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement tax strategies that optimise the company’s tax position while ensuring compliance with relevant laws.
• Monitor changes in tax legislation affecting the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors and adapt policies accordingly.
• Prepare, review and file corporate, indirect (VAT, withholding) and transfer‑pricing tax returns and disclosures.
• Coordinate with external tax advisors, auditors and tax authorities during audits and inquiries.
• Identify tax planning opportunities related to business decisions, acquisitions and divestitures.
• Maintain transfer‑pricing documentation and ensure alignment with global regulations.
• Manage internal controls and risk‑mitigation processes to minimise tax‑related exposures.
• Collaborate with finance, legal and regulatory teams to integrate tax considerations into contracts and projects.
• Oversee accounting activities for month‑end closing, statutory adjustments and financial reconciliation.

Required profile

• Extensive knowledge of corporate, indirect and transfer‑pricing tax regulations.
• Proven experience in tax compliance, planning and audit management, preferably within a multinational environment.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex tax legislation.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
