About the role
The Accounting & Cost Control Manager is responsible for overseeing all financial, cost accounting, and plant‑level operations within a manufacturing facility. You will partner with production managers and executive leadership to monitor product margins, control manufacturing overhead, and ensure full financial compliance.
Key responsibilities
- Establish, update, and maintain standard costing models for raw materials, direct labor, and overhead.
- Analyze job‑order and process cost variances on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Oversee physical stock counts, cycle counts, and valuation of raw material, WIP, and finished‑goods inventory.
- Audit Bill of Materials and routing data with production and engineering teams.
- Monitor plant KPIs such as cost per unit, scrap percentage, yield efficiency, and machine downtime costs.
- Lead month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end closes; prepare manufacturing P&L, balance sheet, and cash‑flow reports.
- Manage accounts payable/receivable, payroll allocation, and local tax/statutory reporting for the factory.
- Track capital expenditures, depreciation schedules, and ROI for equipment investments.
- Serve as primary contact for external financial and inventory auditors.
- Supervise and develop plant accountants, inventory controllers, and finance support staff.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Industrial Management.
- CMA or CPA certification strongly preferred.
- 6–10 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a heavy‑manufacturing environment.
- Deep knowledge of job‑costing, process‑costing, scrap management, and standard absorption costing.
Required skills
- Expertise in ERP manufacturing modules (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Odoo, Infor) focusing on inventory, costing, and production control.
- Advanced Excel proficiency, including financial modeling, pivot tables, and complex formulas.
