Accounts Payable Accountant

About the role

The Accounts Payable Accountant will manage the end‑to‑end AP process, ensuring supplier invoices, employee reimbursements and payments are processed accurately and on time. The role supports financial integrity, maintains vendor relationships and guarantees compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, review and process supplier invoices after verifying supporting documents and required approvals.
• Match invoices with purchase orders, goods receipt notes and contracts to ensure accuracy.
• Prepare payment schedules and process payments according to agreed terms.
• Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Maintain accurate AP records and ensure all transactions are recorded in the ERP system.
• Coordinate with Procurement, Warehouse and other departments to resolve invoice and payment issues.
• Process employee expense reimbursements in compliance with company policies.
• Assist in month‑end and year‑end closing activities by preparing AP reconciliations and accruals.
• Monitor outstanding payables and ensure timely settlement of liabilities.
• Prepare reports related to accounts payable, aging analysis and cash‑flow requirements.
• Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations.
• Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of AP processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• At least 4 years of experience in Accounts Payable or General Accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Experience using ERP systems; SAP experience is a strong advantage.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of Egyptian tax regulations and VAT requirements is preferred.
