About the role
The United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) is seeking an Advocacy Intern for its Regional Office for the Arab States in Cairo. This full‑time, hybrid internship supports communications, advocacy and stakeholder‑engagement activities across the Arab region. The role is unpaid and offers practical experience in coordinating regional events and producing visibility products.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in communications planning and coordination of regional conferences, workshops and high‑level meetings.
- Gather and organise communications inputs required for each event and ensure timely publication of event pages.
- Support event communications before, during and after regional activities.
- Develop success stories and document good practices from Member States and stakeholder groups.
- Prepare stakeholder profiles and support the production of partner interviews.
- Maintain and update mailing lists, support surveys, track responses and compile results for Arab stakeholder groups.
Required profile
- Interest in communications, advocacy and disaster risk reduction.
- Ability to work full‑time in a hybrid setting and collaborate with UN staff and external partners.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
