Architectural Engineer – Site Finishing Specialist

About the role

The Architectural Engineer will lead on‑site execution of architectural and finishing works, ensuring that all works follow approved drawings, samples and mock‑ups. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality, snag‑free residential and mixed‑use units on schedule, coordinating closely with MEP and civil teams.

Key responsibilities

• Direct daily finishing activities (masonry, plastering, flooring, cladding, painting, joinery, aluminium, external finishes) according to approved shop drawings and material samples.
• Set out architectural elements (levels, axes, openings) and verify dimensional accuracy before and during execution.
• Coordinate finishing sequences with MEP second‑fix and civil works, protecting completed works.
• Prepare Work Inspection Requests (WIRs), attend consultant inspections and drive first‑pass approvals while closing punch items.
• Inspect incoming finishing materials against approved submittals (MIRs) and maintain mock‑up standards.
• Report daily progress, manpower, constraints and photographic records; measure completed quantities for subcontractor payments and IPC support.
• Support unit handover walk‑downs, compile snag lists and provide closure evidence.

Required profile

• B.Sc. in Architectural Engineering and membership in the Engineers Syndicate.
• Minimum 6 years of on‑site execution of finishing works on residential or mixed‑use projects.
• In‑depth knowledge of finishing materials, tolerances and Egyptian market suppliers.
• Proven crew management experience and ability to produce clear English documentation.

• AutoCAD.
• Reading and interpreting full architectural detail packages.
• Quantity measurement for finishing trades.
• QA/QC workflows including Work Inspection Requests (WIR) and Material Inspection Requests (MIR).
• Snagging applications.
• MS Office reporting.
