Assistant Manager - Distribution Center

About the role

Talabat, part of the Delivery Hero Group, is looking for an Assistant Manager for its distribution centers in Cairo. The role covers the end-to-end operation of the DC, including staffing, ordering, receiving, picking and packing, and supervising the team while keeping costs under control.

Key responsibilities

• Manage staffing and scheduling, select people, schedule shifts and carry out routine and preventive maintenance
• Optimize picker utilization through multi-tasking roles to improve unit throughput rates
• Keep stock accurate (no OOS or OVS) by assessing inventory and issuing orders based on the demand planner's input and physical stock checks
• Ensure accurate inbound receiving and efficient, accurate picking and packing of outbound orders according to SOPs
• Monitor fulfillment processes and recommend improvements to boost productivity and profits
• Supervise the DC, ensure profitability and good service, develop employees and manage costs against budget
• Control shrinkage, maintain equipment and infrastructure, and enforce hygiene, sanitation, security and safety standards
• Discuss DC issues with the Country DC Manager and propose solutions, and supervise internal maintenance and third-party suppliers
• Manage daily reports such as loss and gain, expiry dates, dormant stock, in-transit and open inbound/outbound reports

Required profile

• At least 5-7 years of experience in warehousing and distribution centers
• Hands-on approach, good communication and interpersonal skills, and very good English is highly advantageous
• Enthusiasm for learning on the job
