Associate Manager - Facilities Management

About the role

The Assistant Manager - Facility Management at MAF Retail (Hypermarket Egypt) ensures that all assets are kept in proper working condition and maintained regularly according to standards. The role holder supports the Facility Manager in maintenance planning, execution and communication.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance to keep facilities and assets running smoothly.
• Carry out and oversee regular facility inspections, identify maintenance needs and make sure issues are fixed within agreed timelines.
• Supervise maintenance teams and daily activities, ensuring quality, safety and operational standards.
• Monitor external contractors and service providers against service level agreements and company requirements.
• Manage maintenance materials, consumables, tools and critical spare parts inventory.
• Handle facility emergencies, equipment breakdowns and operational incidents with timely corrective action.
• Maintain maintenance records, asset documentation and reports, and recommend operational improvements and cost savings.
• Support team development by guiding technicians, monitoring performance, identifying training needs and promoting safety and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• At least 4 years of experience in Facility Management, Building Maintenance or Technical Services.
• At least 1 year of experience in a retail, hypermarket, supermarket, mall or commercial facilities environment.
• Proven experience in contractor management, preventive maintenance planning, asset management and maintenance operations.
• Strong communication, leadership, problem-solving, organisational and stakeholder management skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of facility systems: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire fighting and general building services.
