Automation Engineer

About the role

The Automation Engineer will design, implement, and maintain automation solutions for our processing plants. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will work closely with production, quality, and maintenance teams to ensure reliable, cost‑effective operation of all automated systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop automation scripts and solutions using the latest software stacks and test frameworks.
• Calibrate field instruments according to schedule and record monthly calibration data.
• Monitor server stations, PLCs, and SCADA networks to guarantee optimal performance.
• Maintain up‑to‑date databases, perform yearly PLC/HMI backup uploads, and coordinate with machine suppliers.
• Support cross‑functional teams in root‑cause analysis of production losses using MIS reports and alarm histories.
• Program and troubleshoot variable frequency drives (VFDs) and set parameters.
• Participate in project commissioning, ensuring safety interlocks and food‑safety requirements are met.
• Plan and execute shutdowns, manage purchase queries, and review inventory to minimize obsolete stock.

Required profile

• Engineering background with experience in industrial automation.
• Strong understanding of HSE and food‑safety compliance.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.

Required skills

• PLC programming and troubleshooting.
• SCADA and HMI configuration.
• Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) parameter setting.
• Instrument calibration and maintenance.
• Network topology design for Server‑PLC‑SCADA communication.
• Database management and MIS reporting.
• Backup and version control of PLC/HMI programs.
• Safety interlock implementation.
