Back Office L2 Engineer – Security (Telecom)

About the role

Ericsson is looking for a Back Office L2 Engineer specialized in security to join its Telecom Security team. You will operate and manage IP‑backbone security devices, ensuring the protection and reliability of the network infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and troubleshoot multi‑vendor firewalls, IPS, authentication servers, token servers, load balancers and DDoS mitigation solutions.
• Secure Gi traffic from GGSNs to Internet gateway firewalls and coordinate communications across IN, VAS, IT, IP‑RAN, OSS, SS7/SIGTRAN, NOC and other nodes.
• Monitor data‑traffic performance through firewalls, investigate incidents and resolve abnormalities.
• Define threats, develop mitigation action plans and implement security access requests.
• Lead IP‑backbone expansions, replacements and new deployments.
• Provide on‑call support for urgent cases and manage third‑party vendor issues.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in network security.
• BSc in Computer Science, Engineering (IT/Communication) or equivalent.
• Proven scripting/automation experience (preferred).
• Hands‑on experience with Juniper SRX, Fortinet firewalls and F5 modules (LTM, AFM, ASM, GTM).
• Familiarity with telecom operator networks.
• Strong presentation, communication and customer‑relationship skills.
• JNCIP‑SEC certification required; F5 certifications a plus.
