BI Engineer Senior Associate (Power BI)

About the role

PwC's advisory practice in Cairo is looking for a Senior Associate BI Engineer with strong Power BI expertise to join its data team. The role focuses on designing, developing and maintaining scalable BI solutions that turn raw data into actionable insights for clients, helping them optimise operations and achieve strategic goals.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and deploy interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI.
• Translate business needs into technical specifications and maintain robust BI solutions.
• Integrate data from multiple sources such as SQL databases, APIs, Excel and cloud platforms.
• Develop and optimise DAX queries and data models for performance and usability.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements.
• Implement and maintain data security and governance standards within Power BI.
• Monitor BI tool performance and troubleshoot technical issues.
• Work with data engineers, analysts and product teams to ensure data quality and integrity.
• Provide training and documentation for end users on Power BI usage.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics or a related field.
• 3-7 years of experience as a BI Engineer, Data Analyst or in a similar role.
• Strong communication skills to present insights to technical and non-technical audiences.

Required skills

• Strong Power BI, including DAX, Power Query (M) and data modelling.
• Hands-on SQL and relational databases, and Python or R for data analysis.
• Familiarity with ETL processes and data warehousing.
• Preferred: Azure Data Services (Azure SQL, Data Factory), other BI tools such as Tableau or Looker, and Microsoft certification (e.g. PL-300).
