Boarding Officer – Port Said

About the role

We are seeking a Boarding Officer to manage vessel calls at our Port Said office, ensuring smooth, safe and cost‑effective operations in line with company SOPs and customer requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Attend and board vessels as required, following company SOPs and client specifications.
• Coordinate all aspects of assigned port calls to guarantee seamless operations.
• Advise on contractor selection and obtain competitive quotes for services.
• Ensure full compliance with Port Services procedures and accurate use of the WASP operating system.
• Use WASP as a mandatory reporting tool according to SOP guidelines.
• Monitor vessel status and respond promptly to follow‑up inquiries.
• Verify pre‑funding receipt or proper authorization before proceeding with port calls.
• Maintain up‑to‑date vessel files and real‑time system updates.
• Communicate proactively and professionally with all stakeholders.
• Report business leads, opportunities and relevant port updates to management.
• Track and record all expenses during port calls.
• Manage Cash‑in‑Transit (Cash to Master) in accordance with WPS procedures.
• Review and approve supplier invoices with attention to cost‑efficiency.
• Ensure safe, compliant and cost‑effective vessel operations while following PPE standards and QHSSE procedures.
• Contribute ideas to improve operational and cost efficiency in port calls.

Required profile

• Solid maritime background with hands‑on experience in ship agency operations.
• Strong communication skills and fluency in English, both written and spoken.
• Good understanding of operational processes and systems.
• Self‑driven, results‑oriented and highly organized.
• Proactive mindset with the ability to anticipate issues and implement preventive actions.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and sound judgment in fast‑paced situations.
• Ability to plan and direct operations without compromising safety.
• Familiarity with port regulations, local authorities, procedures and tariffs.
