Buyer - Retail Assortment

About the role

Assembly Label is looking for a Buyer to join its Buying team at the Alexandria head office. The Buyer develops and delivers a commercially successful product assortment that fits the brand identity, customer needs and seasonal strategies, using knowledge of consumer behaviour, market trends and sales performance to maximise sales and margin.

Key responsibilities

• Drive the retail product assortment to deliver sales, margin and stock targets, and execute the buying strategy to achieve the value proposition.
• Deliver an assortment that meets Assembly Label's minimalist design standards.
• Manage department OTB and option plans across vertical and branded opportunities.
• Prepare store grading plans by channel based on display capacity, demographics and sales trends.
• Monitor in-season trading, identify reorder opportunities and define exit strategies to maximise sales, margin and closing stock.
• Collaborate with Merchandise to forecast continuous products and manage seasonal stock flow, keeping stakeholders informed.
• Give seasonally relevant feedback to Design and stakeholders on trends, price architecture and option plans.
• Onboard Sales and Marketing channels for seasonal assortments and maintain supplier relationships while researching new ones.
• Build a forum for developing and implementing key buying initiatives and pursue your own development.

Required profile

• 5 years of experience in a buying role.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to drive a trade culture and spot strategic growth opportunities.
• Strong ability to build rapport with stakeholders and excellent written and verbal communication.
• Time management, prioritisation, flexibility, collaboration and openness to regular feedback.
