Chief Accountant

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Chief Accountant to lead our accounting function in a fast‑growing PVC raw materials import and trading business. The successful candidate will oversee day‑to‑day financial operations, ensure accurate reporting, and drive compliance with Egyptian tax regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise daily accounting activities, reviewing and approving all entries.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, trial balances and management reports.
• Manage inventory accounting and valuation within Odoo ERP, resolving discrepancies and handling negative inventory.
• Oversee landed cost accounting, including customs, freight, insurance, letters of credit, and foreign‑currency transactions.
• Conduct bank, supplier and customer reconciliations; monitor GR/IR, interim, suspense and clearing accounts.
• Drive the monthly financial close, reviewing accruals, depreciation, prepaid expenses and year‑end adjustments.
• Ensure compliance with Egyptian tax rules and the Electronic Invoicing system; prepare audit schedules and documentation.
• Supervise AP and AR accountants, enforce segregation of duties and internal controls, and coach the accounting team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 8–12 years of accounting experience, including supervisory or chief accountant roles.
• Strong knowledge of Egyptian tax regulations and electronic invoicing.
• Fluent in Arabic and English.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with Odoo ERP (Accounting, Inventory & Purchasing modules).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency.
