Civil & Facilities Engineer – Plant Maintenance

About the role

The Civil & Facilities Engineer is responsible for overseeing the structural integrity, maintenance, and enhancement of all plant buildings, civil infrastructure, and facility utilities. Acting as a subject‑matter expert, you will bridge traditional civil engineering project management with day‑to‑day facilities operations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular inspections and condition assessments of civil structures, including steel frames, reinforced concrete foundations, roads, and drainage systems.
• Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance schedules to minimise downtime.
• Design, specify and supervise civil repair works, structural modifications and expansions for new equipment installations.
• Oversee non‑process building services such as HVAC, industrial plumbing, lighting, roofing, sewage and domestic water systems.
• Manage office layouts, warehousing, landscaping, site security structures and internal traffic routes.
• Lead third‑party civil contractors from tendering through on‑site supervision, quality assurance and handover.
• Prepare technical specifications, scopes of work, bills of quantities and cost estimates; monitor OPEX and CAPEX.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• 5–8 years of experience in civil construction, structural maintenance or facilities engineering, preferably in a heavy‑industrial or continuous‑process plant.
• Professional Engineer license.
• Fluent in English (Arabic also required).
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

Required skills

• High proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Experience with project management software such as MS Project and Primavera.
• Knowledge of ERP systems, specifically SAP and Oracle maintenance modules.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural and MEP drawings.
