Counter Agent

About the role

Maersk is seeking a proactive Counter Agent to be the primary point of contact for customers and intermediaries at the company’s counter. You will manage counter‑related interactions, support cargo release and documentation, and help ensure a seamless customer journey.

Key responsibilities

• Update all required systems to deliver an excellent on‑site customer experience.
• Execute import and export counter activities according to established processes and service standards.
• Contribute to individual and team KPIs.
• Ensure SOPs and internal procedures are followed by Third‑Party Agents (TPA).
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to support counter‑related operations.
• Investigate and resolve outstanding collections, ensuring short payments are collected by the TPA.
• Monitor TPA performance and conduct periodic on‑site audits for compliance.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and enhance the customer experience.

Required profile

• Experience in customer service, commercial operations, or a customer‑facing counter environment.
• Background in logistics, shipping, freight forwarding, or transportation is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Good written and spoken English.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
• Proactive, customer‑focused mindset with strong attention to detail.
