Customer Engineer – ATM & Self‑Checkout Systems

About the role

NCR Atleos is looking for a Customer Engineer (ATM CE) to provide high‑quality technical support and maintenance for ATMs and self‑checkout devices across South Africa. The role is field‑based, requiring on‑site installation, repair, and preventive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain hardware of ATMs and related self‑checkout devices.
• Produce and update equipment performance reports and apply hardware modifications.
• Maintain day‑to‑day customer relationships, provide status updates, and escalate issues as needed.
• Diagnose technical problems using provided information and on‑site investigation.
• Own customer issues from reporting to resolution in line with SLA agreements.
• Process stock movements and call‑out details via the mobile application.
• Travel throughout South Africa and be available on standby rosters, including weekends and public holidays.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of electromechanical systems and structured troubleshooting methodologies.
• Proven problem‑solving and analytical abilities in a field‑service environment.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers and third‑party service providers.
