Cyber Security Engineer

About the role

MOAR IT is building a new cybersecurity function and is looking for a versatile Cyber Security Engineer who can operate both on the offensive and defensive sides of security. You will work in a hybrid setting in New Cairo, shaping the team and influencing the security strategy from day one.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and test offensive security measures, including penetration testing and exploit development.
• Develop defensive capabilities, monitor alerts, and work closely with the SOC to detect and respond to threats.
• Participate in Capture The Flag (CTF) events and use platforms such as Hack The Box or TryHackMe to sharpen skills.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate security best practices into existing processes.
• Help define and document security procedures as the function matures.

Required profile

• Fluent English; French is a strong plus.
• Hands‑on mindset: you understand vulnerabilities and know how to both detect and exploit them.
• Active ranking on Hack The Box, TryHackMe, or equivalent platforms.
• Willingness to shape a new security team and take direct impact.

Required skills

• Penetration testing and exploit development.
• SOC analysis and incident response.
• Vulnerability assessment and remediation.
• CTF participation and problem‑solving on platforms like HTB or TryHackMe.
