Data Analyst – Institutional Research

About the role

The Office of Institutional Research & Effectiveness at Louisiana State University of Alexandria is seeking a Data Analyst to support official university reporting and provide data-driven insights to campus stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Produce accurate data reports for academic, student support, and administrative units to enhance student success and operational efficiency.
• Write programming scripts to improve functionality and performance of university applications.
• Collaborate with IET Services and other offices to ensure strong data governance and data integrity.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including data definitions, code documentation, and standard operating procedures.
• Coordinate state and federal reporting submissions (e.g., Louisiana Board of Regents, National Student Clearinghouse, IPEDS).
• Respond to internal and external ad‑hoc data requests.
• Support assessment, program review, strategic planning, accreditation, and related activities.
• Research, analyze, and interpret university data trends to inform decision‑making.
• Create dashboards and online data tools to improve data accessibility.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Decision Science/Analytics, Business Administration, Applied Statistics, or a related field.
• Or a minimum of five years of experience in a database or systems analyst role, preferably in higher education.
• Experience in institutional research or similar data‑focused environments is strongly preferred.
