Data Architecture Senior Tech Lead

About the role

Vodafone is looking for a Senior Tech Lead to design a unified, scalable and secure data blueprint that integrates network and business data across the group. The role ensures that all data initiatives align with the business vision while preventing data silos.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the evaluation, selection and group approval of data tools such as data‑virtualisation platforms, cloud providers and data‑lake technologies.
• Report to the Group Architecture Maturity Index and initiate projects to meet maturity targets.
• Assess current and planned architectures, identify gaps and produce high‑level designs that drive enterprise data transformation.
• Act as principal architect during projects, ensuring KPIs and objectives are achieved.
• Prepare the data foundation for AI use‑cases and define road‑maps to close identified gaps.
• Guarantee that the data infrastructure fully supports intelligent data applications and future‑proof visualization tools.
• Negotiate yearly plans and budgets with Group Architecture and evaluate SOA gaps for implementation.
• Collaborate on cross‑domain data modeling to optimise schemas for high‑performance processing.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in enterprise data architecture and large‑scale data transformation.
• Proven ability to align technology road‑maps with business demand and governance requirements.
• Strong understanding of data‑virtualisation, cloud, data‑lake and AI data readiness concepts.
• Experience acting as principal architect and delivering projects that meet defined KPIs.
