Data Protection Officer (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a Data Protection Officer to join a leading global IT services and consulting firm on a contract basis. The role is fully remote and focuses on overseeing data protection strategies, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations, and safeguarding personally identifiable information across international markets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain data protection policies and procedures aligned with global privacy laws.
• Conduct regular audits and assessments to verify compliance with GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA and other regulations.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for data protection inquiries from internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Monitor, report and mitigate data protection risks, recommending corrective actions as needed.
• Deliver training to employees on data privacy best practices and compliance requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Law or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Relevant certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPM or CISSP are preferred.
• Experience conducting Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and applying privacy‑by‑design frameworks.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities to assess compliance gaps.
