Design Engineer – SCADA (Instrumentation & Control)

About the role

We are seeking a full‑time Design Engineer specialized in SCADA, Instrumentation, Control and Automation (ICA) to join our on‑site team in Cairo. You will be responsible for designing and reviewing ICA systems for water, wastewater, desalination and related infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review P&IDs from an ICA perspective.
• Develop instrument lists, I/O lists, control philosophies, cause‑and‑effect matrices and functional design specifications.
• Design and review SCADA architecture, PLC/RTU configurations, communication networks and system‑integration approaches.
• Produce ICA technical specifications, datasheets and design calculations.
• Coordinate with process, mechanical, electrical and ICT disciplines.
• Review vendor and contractor technical submittals.
• Support FAT, SAT, testing and commissioning activities and resolve technical comments.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, international standards and client requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, Control or Automation Engineering.
• 3–6 years of experience in ICA/SCADA engineering.
• Experience on water, wastewater, desalination or infrastructure projects is preferred.
• Strong understanding of instrumentation, P&IDs, SCADA architecture, PLC/RTU systems, industrial communication protocols and control system integration.
• Proven ability to prepare ICA design deliverables and review technical documentation.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD.
• Excellent communication, coordination and technical writing skills.
• Previous consultancy experience is an advantage.
