DevOps Engineer – Cloud & Kubernetes

About the role

VOIS, the strategic arm of Vodafone Group, is looking for a DevOps Engineer to support global IT integration and deliver secure, scalable solutions on private‑cloud environments. You will build and manage modern application platforms using Kubernetes, ensuring high availability and reliable deployments across multiple Vodafone markets.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure availability, reliability and performance of applications, infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines across environments.
• Lead system migrations, upgrades and integrations, selecting tooling, automation and deployment strategies.
• Manage incident and problem resolution, prioritising according to SLA impact and business criticality.
• Define and promote DevOps best practices, including monitoring, automation and knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement.
• Maintain application and server availability on UNIX and Windows platforms.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application, infrastructure and database‑related issues.
• Support and enhance CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks.
• Maintain and update technical documentation and knowledge bases.

Required profile

• Proven experience implementing DevOps tools and integrating systems.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker and micro‑services architecture.
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, GitHub, Nexus and SonarQube.
• Understanding of AWS cloud services is a plus.
• Solid background in UNIX/Linux administration and core IT infrastructure (DNS, proxy, connectivity).
• Experience in service management, incident prioritisation and handling multiple incidents simultaneously.
• Knowledge of ITIL practices or certification is beneficial.
• Awareness of API management tools such as Apigee is desirable.
• Basic software or web development knowledge.
