DevOps Lead Architect

About the role

PwC is looking for a DevOps Lead Architect to join its advisory practice in Cairo. The role combines extensive DevOps and cloud expertise with strong leadership abilities: you will drive the architectural vision, shape platform engineering, lead technical teams and ensure the delivery of complex projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and inspire the DevOps architecture team, driving architectural strategy and keeping it aligned with organizational goals
• Create and implement robust software deployment lifecycles using agile methodologies, and architect solutions for complex cloud and DevOps challenges
• Advocate for industry best practices in cloud and DevOps, adapting tools and processes to business needs
• Mentor junior and senior team members and coordinate with teams across the UK, US and other regions
• Lead troubleshooting of system and service faults, including problem analysis and solution design

Required profile

• Minimum 8+ years in DevOps roles, with proven experience leading technical teams and architecting complex environments
• Proven track record designing, implementing and optimizing DevOps lifecycle projects
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT or Communications Engineering
• Fluent English, speaking and writing

Required skills

• Software development with Java (preferred) and microservices
• Branching and deployment strategies (GitFlow, trunk-based, blue-green, canary)
• CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions
• Build tools (Gradle), configuration management, and cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
• Docker, Kubernetes, Helm charts, and monitoring tools such as Datadog
• Infrastructure as code (Terraform, ARM or CloudFormation); scripting in Python, Bash or Java
• Agile methods such as Scrum and Kanban
• Nice to have: cloud/DevOps certifications, DevSecOps knowledge, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, message queues (RabbitMQ, Kafka, SQS), Selenium testing
