About the role

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Housekeeping to lead our housekeeping operations at an Accor property in Cairo, Egypt. In this senior leadership position you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, guest satisfaction and operational efficiency across the hotel.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and continuously improve housekeeping policies, procedures and quality standards aligned with corporate goals and industry best practices.
  • Lead, mentor and motivate a diverse team of supervisors and room attendants, fostering an inclusive and high-performance culture.
  • Prepare and manage departmental budgets, monitor labour and supply costs, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Conduct regular inspections and quality audits to ensure consistent cleanliness, presentation and compliance with protocols.
  • Collaborate with other hotel departments to coordinate guest experiences and resolve inter-departmental issues.
  • Implement health, safety and environmental protocols, ensuring compliance with local regulations and sustainability initiatives.
  • Oversee inventory management and vendor relationships to optimise procurement of cleaning supplies and equipment.
  • Analyse performance metrics, KPIs and guest feedback to drive continuous improvement.
  • Recruit, onboard and develop housekeeping staff, establishing clear career paths and performance review processes.
  • Manage crisis situations and adapt quickly to changing operational demands while maintaining service excellence.

Required profile

  • Minimum 5 years of proven experience in housekeeping management, preferably within luxury hotels or high-end hospitality environments.
  • Strong leadership and people-development skills with a track record of building high-performing teams.
  • Excellent budgeting, cost control and financial management abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of health, safety and environmental standards applicable to hospitality.
  • Ability to analyse data, identify trends and implement operational improvements.
  • Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills, with a guest-focused mindset.
