About the role
The Director of Security leads the development and governance of the organization’s security strategy across all assets, projects, facilities and communities. This senior position ensures the protection of people, property and business operations through robust security frameworks, risk management, emergency preparedness and advanced security technologies.
Key responsibilities
- Define and implement security strategy, policies, standards and governance for all operational and development assets.
- Provide strategic oversight of security operations, protecting people, facilities, communities and corporate assets.
- Establish risk‑management frameworks, conduct periodic risk assessments, threat analyses and vulnerability evaluations.
- Lead crisis management, business continuity and emergency response programmes.
- Manage outsourced security service providers, ensuring contractual compliance, service quality and cost efficiency.
- Direct implementation and optimisation of physical security systems such as CCTV, access‑control, perimeter protection, command centres and other security technologies.
- Collaborate with Facility Management, Property Management, HSE, Legal and Operations to embed security into overall resilience.
- Develop security standards and procedures for new developments, asset handovers and project mobilisation.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, security standards and corporate governance.
- Lead investigations of major security incidents, fraud, asset‑protection concerns and business disruptions.
- Prepare and present security performance reports, risk assessments and strategic improvement plans to executive management.
- Mentor and develop the security management team, fostering professionalism and continuous improvement.
- Manage the annual security budget, aligning resources with operational needs.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law or a related field.
- Police Academy graduate or former police/military officer preferred, especially in large‑scale real‑estate, mixed‑use, hospitality or facility‑management environments.
- Professional certifications such as CPP (Certified Protection Professional) or PSP (Physical Security Professional) are advantageous.
- Extensive experience in security leadership, risk management and crisis response.
