Donor Center Technician (Plasmapheresis)

About the role

The Donor Center Technician is responsible for assessing donor suitability and operating the automated plasmapheresis machine to collect plasma safely. Working under the supervision of certified staff, the technician ensures compliance with all standard operating procedures and regulatory guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct pre‑donation medical screening, including vital signs, medical history, hematocrit and protein measurements.
• Set up, monitor, and disconnect the plasmapheresis machine while ensuring donor safety.
• Document donor information accurately and maintain confidential donor files.
• Provide feedback to ineligible donors and respond to emergency medical situations as needed.
• Report unsafe conditions and follow all cGMP, SOP, and local authority regulations.

Required profile

• Graduate of a nursing program or Health Technical Institute (or equivalent).
• At least 1 year of clinical experience, preferably in plasma or whole‑blood collection.
• Strong communication and customer‑service skills in English and Arabic.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, highly regulated medical environment.

Required skills

• Operation of automated plasmapheresis machines.
• Use of hematastat and refractometer for HCT and protein testing.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Familiarity with cGMP and Standard Operating Procedures.
