Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Teacher

About the role

The Continental School of Cairo is seeking an enthusiastic, qualified Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Teacher for the 2026/2027 academic year. The role involves creating a warm, stimulating environment where young learners can thrive socially, emotionally and academically.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high‑quality, developmentally appropriate learning experiences in line with the British Curriculum EYFS framework.
• Create a safe, nurturing, and well‑organised environment that supports children’s social, emotional, physical and academic development.
• Balance child‑initiated and adult‑led activities to foster curiosity, independence and creativity.
• Design purposeful play‑based activities that respond to individual interests and developmental stages.
• Observe, assess and monitor children’s progress, using data to plan next steps.
• Maintain accurate records, observations and documentation according to EYFS requirements.
• Identify and support individual learning needs, adapting approaches to ensure full curriculum access.
• Promote personal, social and emotional development, confidence and positive relationships.
• Establish clear routines and maintain a calm, inclusive classroom atmosphere.
• Collaborate with teaching assistants, support staff and colleagues for consistent provision.
• Communicate regularly with parents and carers about progress and wellbeing.
• Contribute to department initiatives, school events and professional development.
• Uphold safeguarding, health and safety, and child wellbeing standards.
• Adhere to school policies, values and inclusive culture.

Required profile

• Qualified and experienced EYFS teacher.
• Proven ability to plan and deliver the British Curriculum EYFS programme.
• Strong observational and assessment skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding, health and safety standards.
• Effective communication with parents, carers and staff.

Required skills

• Knowledge of the British Curriculum EYFS framework.
