Elevator and Escalator Tester Technician

About the role

KONE is looking for a Tester Technician in Cairo to test and commission elevator and escalator equipment, making sure it meets KONE's safety, quality and technical standards before handover. The role calls for strong technical and troubleshooting skills, and confidence using digital tools for testing, commissioning, diagnostics and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Test and commission elevators and escalators according to KONE procedures and safety standards.
• Identify, troubleshoot and resolve electrical and technical issues during testing.
• Ensure equipment meets safety, quality and performance standards before handover.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams and technical documentation.
• Use digital testing, diagnostic, commissioning and reporting tools in day-to-day work.
• Report issues and coordinate with installation and technical teams for timely resolution.
• Complete testing documentation and reports accurately, and maintain testing tools and equipment.
• Follow KONE safety procedures and support installation teams with technical guidance.

Required profile

• Technical diploma or secondary school qualification in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Electromechanical or a related field.
• 3-4 years of relevant technical experience, preferably in elevators and escalators, testing, commissioning, maintenance or electrical systems.
• Good attention to detail with a strong focus on safety and quality.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with installation and site teams.

Required skills

• Good knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, control systems and technical drawings.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Digital skills for testing, diagnostics, commissioning, documentation and reporting.
• Comfortable learning and working with new digital systems used in field operations.
