Engineer I – Maintenance

About the role

The Engineer I will provide on‑site maintenance support for guest rooms and hotel facilities, ensuring all equipment and systems operate safely and efficiently. This entry‑level position involves responding to guest repair requests, performing preventive maintenance, and collaborating with other shifts to keep the property in top condition.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to guest repair requests and resolve maintenance issues promptly.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen equipment, and mechanical room assets, including cleaning and lubrication.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair air‑conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and pneumatic/electronic systems.
• Carry out minor carpentry, painting, drywall, and wood‑trim repairs, as well as replace light bulbs, A/C filters, and electrical switches/outlets.
• Program televisions, manage housekeeping and engineering inventory, and use the lockout/tagout system before work.
• Maintain landscaping, sprinkler systems, and exterior repairs.
• Document daily activities, communicate shift handovers, and follow all safety, security, and company policies.

Required profile

• Basic knowledge of HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, lift up to 50 lb unassisted and heavier items with assistance.
• Strong communication skills to interact with guests and team members.
• Commitment to safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and proper handling of flammable materials.
