Executive Banquet Sous Chef

About the role

Four Seasons Cairo at The First Residence is looking for an Executive Banquet Sous Chef reporting to the Director of Culinary. The role covers the planning, coordination and execution of all banquet culinary operations, including internal functions, conferences, weddings, VIP events and external catering, while leading the banquet kitchen teams and collaborating with Sales, Events and Operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all banquet culinary operations, ensuring quality, consistency and execution across events.
• Manage the planning, preparation and delivery of internal functions such as conferences, weddings, social events and VIP gatherings.
• Direct all external and off-site catering operations.
• Lead, coach and develop the banquet culinary team.
• Partner with Events, Sales and Operations to design menus and deliver successful events.
• Drive food cost control, labor productivity, inventory management and adherence to food safety and hygiene standards.
• Ensure operations meet brand standards and support the Director of Culinary in strategic planning and business growth.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of culinary leadership experience in banquet, catering or large-scale hotel operations; luxury hospitality experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of banquet production, outside catering, event execution, food safety and cost control.
• Proven ability to lead and develop large culinary teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Fluent spoken and written English; additional languages are an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and culinary management systems.
• Excellent organizational and planning skills, able to manage multiple events at once.
• Strong communication skills and collaboration across departments.

The position is full-time with a five-day work week, with flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays, and to cover extended hours during peak periods.
