Exploration Manager

About the role

The Exploration Manager will lead the exploration function at Sukari, Egypt’s first modern gold mine, driving the discovery and definition of new mineral resources to secure the long‑term pipeline.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and prioritize exploration strategies for near‑mine, brownfield and regional targets using multidisciplinary datasets.
• Plan, govern and optimise drilling programmes, manage contractors and oversee 3D geological modelling and structural interpretation.
• Ensure data integrity through robust QA/QC protocols and compliance with international reporting codes (JORC, SAMREC, CRIRSCO).
• Lead field HSE initiatives, environmental risk mitigation and ISO 14001:2015 EMS compliance.
• Manage exploration budgets, control cost per metre and mentor a high‑performing team of geoscientists.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Geoscience (MSc/PhD preferred).
• Minimum 14 years of experience in mineral exploration, with a proven record in gold exploration management.
• Expert knowledge of orogenic/intrusion‑related gold systems and Qualified Person eligibility (preferred).
• Professional registration or membership with a recognised geoscience body (preferred).
• Valid driver’s licence with 4x4/off‑road capability for remote field work.
