Facilities Technician – Network & Cabling

About the role

The Facilities Technician will support Marriott’s engineering and facilities teams by ensuring network and cabling services are delivered accurately and efficiently. This role involves coordinating installations, troubleshooting data issues, and maintaining a well‑organized network environment.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate with facilities staff and customers to capture service requirements.
• Plan and coordinate equipment installations, moves, additions, changes, and system enhancements.
• Analyze processes, recommend improvements, and implement changes to boost reliability and performance.
• Troubleshoot network data problems and resolve non‑routine issues.
• Complete trouble tickets within established service level agreements.
• Maintain order and compliance of data network closets, adhering to cabling standards.
• Support special events, large moves, and project work as required.
• Maintain inventory of technology devices and cabling materials.
• Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and professional appearance standards.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least 3 years of related facilities or network cabling experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• No supervisory experience required.

Required skills

• Knowledge of CAT 5, fiber optic, and power cabling capacities and standards.
• Network troubleshooting and data‑cable issue resolution.
• Ability to organize and maintain network cabinets and closets.
• Basic inventory management of cabling and related equipment.
• Physical ability to move, lift, and carry objects up to 50 lb.
• Proficiency with computer systems for ticketing and documentation.
