Field Service Engineer – Motors & Generators

About the role

ABB is seeking a Field Service Engineer to deliver on‑site installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of motors and generators. You will work directly with customers, applying ABB’s standards and safety guidelines while ensuring first‑time‑right service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Execute low to medium complexity service tasks on motors and generators according to work instructions.
• Identify improvement opportunities on‑site and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare material lists and ensure availability of parts and equipment for each service activity.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures, perform vibration analysis and alignment, and document findings.
• Travel up to 80% of the time and provide technical support during evenings and weekends on a rotating schedule.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Electromechanical Engineering.
• 3–5 years of service experience with rotating equipment.
• Certification in Category 3 vibration analysis.
• Strong knowledge of alignment and balancing processes for motors and generators.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
