Field Support Specialist (Freelance / Dispatch)

About the role

We are seeking a reliable Freelance Field Support Specialist to provide on‑site technical assistance when full‑time engineers are unavailable or when dispatch activities require immediate attention. You will work directly with end‑users, ensuring their IT equipment functions smoothly and any issues are resolved promptly.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver on‑site support for desktops, laptops, and peripheral devices.
• Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software according to company standards.
• Perform IMAC (Install, Move, Add, Change) tasks for IT assets.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software problems, providing break‑fix support.
• Coordinate repairs, replacements, and escalations with OEMs and vendors.
• Manage IT inventory, asset tracking, and documentation.
• Create system images for laptops and desktops.
• Set up, troubleshoot, and install network printers.
• Assist with conference‑room AV equipment and meeting‑room technologies.
• Provide high‑touch VIP/end‑user support and adhere to SLA commitments.
• Support Office 365 issues and general user account problems.
• Install and troubleshoot compliance and security software.
• Support both Mac and Windows devices.
• Participate in after‑hours activities, events, and recurring meetings as needed.

Required profile

• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Self‑motivated and capable of working independently in a dynamic environment.
• Willingness to handle after‑hours and on‑site dispatch tasks.
