Finance Assistant – Aswan

About the role

The Finance Assistant will support the Aswan Area Office of Save the Children Egypt by handling day‑to‑day financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with month‑end and audit activities. This role ensures that all payments, receipts, and cash movements are processed in line with SCI guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Verify bills, invoices and supporting documents before payment, ensuring completeness and proper charging notes.
• Prepare payment vouchers, cash receipts, cash transfers and general journal entries on a daily basis.
• Record all transactions in the finance management system (FMS‑Agresso/GLACOS) and maintain bank books.
• Write checks, process online transfers and reconcile bank statements daily.
• Manage petty cash payments and provide cash advances to program and admin staff, ensuring correct budget coding.
• Maintain orderly and secure filing of financial documents and scan them monthly.
• Support year‑end and grant‑specific audits, and assist with sub‑grant financial procedures.
• Track all office payments and review fuel payments.

Required profile

• Experience in basic bookkeeping and financial transaction processing.
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality of financial information.
• Ability to work independently while supporting the finance team.
• Willingness to comply with child safeguarding requirements (Level 3).

Required skills

• Proficiency with FMS‑Agresso or GLACOS finance systems.
• Knowledge of bank reconciliation and voucher preparation.
