Finance Manager – Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program

About the role

The Finance Manager will provide financial leadership and compliance oversight for the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at The American University in Cairo. The role ensures that program funds are used efficiently, adhere to donor regulations, and align with AUC policies.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the program budget, offering day‑to‑day guidance to staff.
• Review and validate quarterly financial reports, annual projections, and donor‑mandated reports.
• Develop and maintain internal financial controls to meet audit standards.
• Coordinate with AUC supporting offices on all financial matters related to the program.
• Plan annual financial goals, monitor cost‑control measures, and analyse budget variances.
• Oversee procurement processes to secure value for money and audit readiness.
• Establish quotation mechanisms and identify best offers for program needs.

Required profile

• MA in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
• Minimum 12 years of experience, including at least 8 years in a managerial finance role.
• Proven experience managing externally funded projects.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of accounting procedures.
• Proficiency with SAP.
• Strong computer skills for financial analysis and reporting.
