Financial Analyst – Junior (ERPNext, VAT)

About the role

Strategic Gears is looking for a junior Financial Analyst to manage the day‑to‑day transactional workload of two entities in Egypt and KSA. The role starts with high‑volume data entry and reconciliation and will evolve into reporting and analysis as processes stabilise.

Key responsibilities

• Enter high‑volume AP and AR invoices, payments and receipts into ERPNext and maintain daily cut‑off.
• Maintain accurate, de‑duplicated supplier and customer master data and ledgers.
• Process expense claims and per diems, ensuring compliance with policy before posting.
• Perform daily bank entries and monthly bank reconciliations across all accounts.
• Prepare Egyptian VAT and withholding tax records for the external tax agent.
• Build and maintain Excel schedules for monthly close and produce recurring management reports (cost by project, resource utilisation, AP/AR ageing).

Required profile

• 2–3 years post‑graduation experience in accounting or finance with full transactional ownership.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce.
• Native Arabic speaker; business‑level English (written and spoken).
• Experience in a management consultancy or professional services firm is preferred.
• Exposure to multi‑entity or cross‑border groups, especially Egypt‑GCC structures.

Required skills

• ERPNext (or comparable ERP such as SAP Business One, Odoo, NetSuite, Dynamics).
• VAT and withholding tax mechanics for Egypt.
• Strong double‑entry accounting knowledge.
• High‑accuracy data entry.
• Advanced Excel (lookups, pivots, SUMIFS, text‑to‑columns, data cleaning).
• Familiarity with accounting software (Odoo, Netsuite, SAP Business One).
