Fraud Governance & Controls Manager

About the role
The Fraud Governance & Controls Manager is responsible for providing effective governance and oversight of the bank’s fraud risk management framework. This includes establishing policies, standards, controls, and reporting mechanisms that enable proactive identification, assessment, mitigation, monitoring, and reporting of fraud risks across all business lines, channels, and support functions.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct enterprise‑wide fraud risk assessments covering products, channels, processes, systems, third parties and emerging threats.
- Review fraud risk implications for new products, services, digital initiatives and strategic projects through the New Product Approval Process.
- Ensure Board and Senior Management oversight of fraud risk via periodic reporting, governance forums and fraud committee meetings.
- Establish and maintain the Fraud Risk Appetite, Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and performance metrics, monitoring breaches and escalating as needed.
- Develop, implement and test preventive, detective and corrective fraud controls.
- Maintain a centralized Fraud Risk Register and track remediation plans for identified vulnerabilities.
- Ensure compliance with Central Bank regulations, card‑scheme requirements and internal governance standards.
- Coordinate with Internal Audit, Compliance, Operational Risk, Information Security, Legal and Business Units to strengthen the fraud control environment.
- Perform root‑cause analysis of fraud incidents and drive corrective actions.
- Monitor fraud losses, trends and emerging threats, providing regular reports to management committees and the Board.
- Design and deliver enterprise‑wide fraud awareness and training programmes.
- Support development of fraud analytics, intelligence and reporting capabilities.
Required profile
- Extensive experience in fraud risk management within a banking or financial services environment.
- Strong knowledge of Central Bank regulations, card‑scheme rules and internal governance standards.
- Proven ability to conduct risk assessments, develop controls and report to senior leadership.
- Excellent analytical skills with a track record of root‑cause analysis and remediation planning.
- Effective communication and stakeholder‑management skills to collaborate across audit, compliance, risk, legal and business units.
