General Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a General Accountant to lead the finance function for our retail, e‑commerce and manufacturing operations in Cairo. The role will own the full accounting cycle, ensure accurate reporting, and provide financial insights to support business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger and execute monthly, quarterly and annual close processes.
• Prepare financial statements including income statement, balance sheet and cash flow.
• Handle accruals, pre‑payments, depreciation, provisions and VAT filings in compliance with Egyptian tax law.
• Reconcile sales, collections and courier COD data from stores, Shopify and marketplace platforms; investigate discrepancies.
• Manage inventory accounting across warehouses, stores and production, calculate COGS and support SKU‑level margin analysis.
• Record supplier invoices, production costs and monitor marketing, shipping and logistics expenses against budget.
• Produce monthly management reports and assist pricing and campaign profitability analyses.
• Coordinate with auditors and tax advisors as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
• 5–8 years of experience in retail, e‑commerce or manufacturing accounting.
• CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
• High attention to detail, strong analytical mindset and ability to work under pressure.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel.
• Proficiency with accounting software.
• Experience using Shopify for sales and inventory reconciliation.
