General Manager – Shipping Agency (Container Line)

About the role

We are looking for an accomplished General Manager to lead our Shipping Agency business for a container line in Egypt. The role carries full P&L responsibility and oversees all commercial, operational, and strategic activities across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Assume regional profit and loss ownership, develop business plans and drive revenue, market share and operational excellence.
• Lead end‑to‑end agency operations, including vessel handling, container logistics, documentation and coordination with ports, customs and government agencies.
• Design and execute commercial strategies, acquire new customers, retain existing accounts and negotiate contracts and tenders.
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with shipping lines, freight forwarders, NVOCCs and key customers.
• Ensure compliance with international maritime regulations, company policies and statutory requirements.
• Optimize vessel turnaround, cargo handling and equipment management to improve productivity and cost efficiency.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in container line or liner shipping operations.
• Proven track record of managing P&L and multi‑functional teams.
• Strong commercial mindset with demonstrated business development success.
• Deep knowledge of maritime regulations and agency processes.
• Ability to drive operational excellence and high levels of customer satisfaction.
