Head of Arabic Department - Lower Primary (National Curriculum)

About the role

Egypt Education Platform is recruiting an experienced Head of Department (HOD) for Arabic in the Lower Primary stage, specialising in the Egyptian National Curriculum for the 2026-2027 academic year. The HOD leads and supports the Arabic teaching team, ensures effective curriculum implementation and maintains high standards of teaching and learning to improve students' Arabic skills and academic results. The workplace is on site.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the planning, implementation and continuous improvement of the Arabic curriculum across Lower Primary.
• Monitor lesson planning, classroom practice, assessments, homework and curriculum delivery for consistency and quality.
• Carry out classroom observations and learning walks, giving constructive feedback, coaching and guidance to teachers.
• Analyse student assessment data, monitor academic progress and put in place intervention plans.
• Ensure compliance with Ministry of Education requirements, school policies and academic standards.
• Lead departmental meetings and support teachers' professional development through training, mentoring and sharing best practices.
• Maintain accurate departmental documentation, assessment records, curriculum plans and improvement plans.
• Collaborate with the Academic Coordinator, Head of Stage, teachers and parents, and support students with different learning needs, including gifted learners and those needing additional support.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Arabic Language, Arabic Education or a related field.
• Previous experience teaching Arabic at the Lower Primary stage.
• Previous experience in a departmental leadership or academic coordination role is preferred.
• Experience in classroom observations, teacher coaching, assessment analysis and curriculum planning.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of the Egyptian National Curriculum and Arabic language teaching methods.
• Leadership, communication, organisational and analytical skills.
• Ability to lead a team, monitor performance and drive continuous academic improvement.
