Head of Demand & Supply Planning – Food Retail

About the role

This is a full‑time, on‑site position based in Cairo, leading demand planning, supply planning and inventory management for a premium food‑retail business. You will drive end‑to‑end forecasting across all product categories, analyse historical sales, market trends and promotional plans to deliver accurate forecasts and optimal stock levels.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the demand forecasting process, using historical data, market insights and promotional calendars.
• Oversee supply planning, coordinating procurement, production and logistics to match supply with demand while minimising stock‑outs and excess inventory.
• Monitor inventory performance, set and review safety‑stock and reorder parameters, and drive continuous improvement of planning tools and reporting.
• Collaborate with merchandising, finance and operations to support new product launches, seasonal campaigns and strategic business decisions.
• Build, mentor and manage a high‑performing planning team.

Required profile

• Proven demand and supply planning experience in food retail or FMCG, with strong forecasting and inventory management capabilities.
• Advanced analytical skills, proficient in Excel and ERP/planning systems, able to interpret data and present actionable insights.
• Demonstrated leadership and people‑management experience, including coaching and developing cross‑functional teams.
• Solid understanding of end‑to‑end supply‑chain operations – procurement, production, warehousing and distribution – preferably in a multi‑channel retail environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering or related field; master’s degree or APICS/CPIM certification is a plus.
